A1 / A2 Restricted Course.

 

The A2 or 'standard' motorcycle training course prepares the student for their motorcycle practical test on a bike of between 121cc and 125cc and capable of at least 62.5mph. It is suited to persons who only wish to ride a smaller machine or persons under the age of 21 who are not eligible for the Direct Access Scheme (DAS). Entry requirements as follows:

  • You must hold a current DL196 (CBT certificate).
  • You must pass the DSA theory test before your Mod 1 test and Mod 2 road test can be booked.
  • We will provide the following for training if you do not have your own equipment:
  • Motorcycle helmet & radios.
  • Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers.
  • Protective gloves.
  • Geared motorcycle.

The training day commences at 0930hrs, generally finishing at 15.00hrs. Instruction on the 125cc motorcycle will be on a variety of roads and off site training areas to prepare you for the Module 1 test.   On completion of the Module 1 test we will train and prepare you for your Module 2 Road Test enabling you to pass your A2 test with confidence. Course length will depend on how your riding skills develop and you will not be put forward for your Module 1 or Module 2 test until you are capable of passing.

When you pass both Module 1 & Module 2 you will be able to:

  • Operate a machine of 33bhp
  • Ride without L-plates
  • Carry passengers
  • Ride on motorways
  • Automatic licence upgrade to category ‘A’ after 2 years

Course fee: £750 which includes bike hire, equipment and insurance. £200 deposit required.

Module 1 £15.50

Module 2 £75.00
